FREE-OR ALMOST FREE ACTIVITIES WE RECOMMEND:

Pike Place Public Market:   The number one attraction in Seattle-Wander through this nine acre market to experience Seattle's character.

Klondike National Park:  Located in Pioneer Square-the smallest national park in USA is free, and gives a great glimpse of the Alaskan Gold Rush-Pioneer Square is filled with restaurants, art museums, and great shopping. 

Washington State Ferries:   Want to see Seattle from the water -on the cheap-For about $5 you can take a 2 hour roundtrip ferry ride from the downtown waterfront to Bremerton.

http://www.zoo.org  Woodland Park Zoo-not free, but if you have kids, or just like animals-this is one of the countries finest zoos.

The Locks:   Located at the north end of town-this facility allows boats to move from the sound to the Lakes surrounding the city.  A great spot to take a picnic lunch, and watch the boats come and go.  See salmon using the fish ladder, and sea lions waiting to eat them.
